Screenings/Events: 12 June 6pm — midnight; 13 June 12 noon — midnight; 14 June 12 noon — 9pm (schedule)

In contrast to the exhibition in the Palazzo, there will be a programme of newly-commissioned live events & screenings, web-based pieces and a range of printed works. The venue for the screenings and events is a gymnasium and playground just a few minutes away from the Palazzo, across the Accademia Bridge, in Dorsoduro.

Screenings and events will take place on 12, 13 and 14 of June (download printable schedule), and will include work by:

  • Dave Allen, Dance Club Inverted 16/8, 2003; Performance, to take place Saturday 14 June, 6-9pm.
  • Katy Dove, You, 2003; A new animation commissioned for Zenomap, DVD, 5:06 mins.
  • Graham Fagen, Life Study (after Giorgione), 2003; DVD, 3:40 mins. With thanks to Jane McCardel, Keith Martin, Tom Young and Continental Shooting, Sandy Moffat and the Glasgow School of Art, Elspeth Gardner, Holger Mohaupt.
  • Luke Fowler, The Way Out (a portrait of Xentos Jones), 2003; DVD, 32:52 mins.
  • Rob Kennedy, Walk and look and eat and lie and talk to you, 2003; DVD, 15:31 mins.
  • Torsten Lauschmann, Misshapen Pearl, 2003; DVD, 8:33 mins.
  • Duncan Marquiss, Seelenzustande Land, 2003; DVD, 12:37 mins.
  • Rosalind Nashashibi, Blood and Fire, 2003; DVD, 6:22 mins.
  • Stephen Sutcliffe, Wings, 2003; DVD, 5:01 mins.
  • Joanne Tatham and Tom O’Sullivan, HK Necklace, 2003; a unique gold necklace work, can be seen adorning the necks of specially invited people, who will host the work for one day each.

The Zenomap website will be a further venue that hosts newly-made work. Artists whose contributions will be featured through the website are:

  • David Blyth, sonic deer antler©, 2003; Stereo soundtrack extracted from active deer pathways located on Kincorth Hill, Aberdeen, with accompanying users’ guide.
  • Dan Norton, www.RAMshack.de.com, 2003; An interactive and complex ever-generating labyrinth of colour, form and sound.
  • Gary Rough, new drawings and sound works, 2003; A selection of text drawings and spoken word sound pieces.
  • Dave Sherry, Deflector project, 2003; An illustrated audio work charting the escalation of an apocalyptic global situation.
  • David Shrigley, The Scream, 2003; A brief animation.
  • Ian Stephen, Saline Points, 2003; Satellite-assisted storytelling in instalments as Stephen sails from Norway to Lewis.
