The Palazzo Zenobio which houses the Collegio Armeno Moorat Raphael is located on the Fondamenta del Soccorso in the Dorsoduro district of Venice, within easy reach of both bus station as well as water bus stops at S. Basilio and Ca Rezzonico.
Dorsoduro - one of Venice's six large administrative districts - is regarded as one of Venice's smartest. It is home to the city's university and its main art gallery, the Gallerie dell'Accademia which displays five centuries of Venetian painting, with masterpieces by Bellini, Carpaccio, Titian, Tintoretto and Veronese.
Dorsoduro also contains the Guggenheim collection of twentieth -century art, which includes work by Brancusi, de Chirico, Max Ernst, Picasso, Pollock and Magritte.
Situated within a courtyard opening onto gardens, the Palazzo Zenobio - one of the largest palaces in Venice - was built in 1690 for the Zenobio family of Verona and designed by the architect Antonio Gaspari. The grand baroque building has housed the Collegio Armeno Moorat Raphael since the mid - 19th century.
Scotland and Venice 2007 will take place within the ground floor rooms of the Palazzo and will complement separate presentations taking place within the Palazzo by other countries and organisations.
