The British Council's Arts Group works with the best of British creative talent to develop innovative programmes that will engage with people all over the world, drawing them into a closer relationship with the UK.
The British Council's Visual Arts Department focuses on partnering with major museums and galleries overseas to curate international touring exhibitions of British artists' work drawn from its own extensive Collection or loaned from other Collections. Since 1935, the Visual Arts Department has been responsible for the British Pavilion and the British representative at the Venice Biennale.
